With uncommon ferocity; with lean lims, sinewy and bandaged; with hips slim as an underaged soldier boy's; with a gaze of steel, peering from squinted eyelids, and a gaped jaw, bellowing a warrior's cry - "Commando"/Vogue Paris, March 2010/Iselin Steiro shot by David Sims

"She was wearing a pair of my pajamas with the sleeves rolled up. When she laughed I wanted her again. A minute later she asked me if I loved her. I told her it didn't mean anything but that I didn't think so. She looked sad. But as we were fixing lunch, and for no apparent reason, she laughed in such a way that I kissed her." - Albert Camus, The Stranger

I just want to hang on to this good feeling/"Yesterday don't matter if it's gone" - Keith Richards, Anita Pallenberg, Mick Jagger, Gram Parsons/down time in the south of France, here's to hoping the party never dies, a messy, hearty, unfussy rock 'n' roll moment in time

He knows what we know but don't know quite how to articulate:
...We asked for signs
the signs were sent:
the birth betrayed
the marriage spent
Yeah the widowhood
of every government
Signs for all to see.
 I can't run no more
with that lawless crowd
while the killers in high places
say their prayers out loud.
But they've summoned, they've summoned up
a thundercloud
and they're going to hear from me.
You can add up the parts
but you won't have the sum
You can strike up the march,
there is no drum
Every heart, every heart
to love will come
but like a refugee.
Ring the bells that still can ring
Forget your perfect offering
There is a crack, a crack in everything
That's how the light gets in...

Declare yourself. Say yes now:
1. Fantasy hair - multi-color streaks; odd shapes; over-teased, over-done and then a bit undone
2. Texture mish-mash - bohemian whimsy oozes from lace, embroidery, folkloric stitching, and charms
3. Anytime is party-time - miniscule frocks mean big statements when they shine like lights; bring your own confetti
4. Le disco sauvage - indulge the inner beast and elevate past the daily mundane. i.e. war paint and pelts
5. Over-the-top tips - kookily glamorous manicures are an unexpected compliment to greased-out locks and slept-in eye makeup
